recently i've been loving art work by Yumi Sakugawa i've bought two of her books and am looking forward to her next one.
I'm back to just quickly share a recipe! kale pesto. woo hooo...
I am a big fan of kale in all forms (well mainly kale crisps) but this is definitely my new favourite.
this isn't a very precise recipe... more a chuck it in the blender and adjust to taste.
The ingredients are:
a handful of cashews
juice of a lemon
a bunch of kale
vegan parmesan or nutritional yeast flakes
salt and pepper
dash of maple syrup (optional)
I haven't really got precise measurements - I just put as much kale in the blender as will fit. And then just all the other ingredients. You could put garlic in like a regular pesto would have, but I find raw garlic a bit too much so I leave it out.
its great in sandwiches, on soups and of course with pasta. And it means you're being really good and getting all your greens.

things have been a bit weird recently haven't they? the orlando shootings broke my heart and there has been lots of horrible news stuff around. Sometimes I find these things overwhelming.... and it's good to think about how change starts with yourself... you can't change other people, but you can try and be the bestest and kindest you can be.
Always there are nice things too - I am off to the Festival of Stuff on Saturday! maybe i'll even blog about it after! also bert is on instagram! here! his user name is bertpastore. You can follow him for pictures of books he's reading, pictures of Sadie and also his mustache. We are only reading good books this year! I'll share what we've been reading soon! We've also been watching studio Ghibli films - loved 'when marnie was there'.

Here's what's been happening recently! Yoga! Always yoga - teaching and going to class, and then reading books about yoga and eating overnight oats. You had overnight oats? They are so good. All it is is equal parts oats to milk - so I put a cup of oats and a cup of hemp or coconut milk in a jar and then leave it in the fridge overnight. You can add anything to it - so I usually add a squeeze of maple syrup and a whole load of frozen berries. Bert likes his with just a little mixed spice. It's my new favourite thing, especially if I'm teaching an early yoga class!
I've been teaching quite a bit of yoga recently.... And reading yoga books...

It's been so long I don't know where to start. So let's start here.
I'm mainly working and then teaching yoga... Me and Bert go to an ashtanga yoga class together... We have also been to see an angel lady and have found out that our spirit animals are a penguin(me) and an antelope (Bert), this makes us happy.
