Jeremy Deller...

For his new exhibition, Jeremy Deller has gone through Bradfords photo archives from the 50s to the 70s. He has chosen pictures that people who had moved to the area had taken so that they could send them home to their families to show that they were doing ok. Here is one of them:

Deller has previously worked on projects looking at The Manic Street Preachers and fans of Depeche Mode, he has also recreated battles, organised exhibitions of folk art, and he won the Turner prize in 2004.  I think his work is fascinating and has a great mix of pathos, the political and humour too, his work is also about being inclusive and working with different communities, his website is www.jeremydeller.org/.

huh, that all sounds a bit impersonal - what I mean is, if you don't know his work, check it out as it's really interesting and awesome and he has quite a unique way of working and I love what he does quite a lot.x
