food post

I thought what with it being thanksgiving I should do a food post. I have a question for the Americans... Do you have gifts at thanksgiving? because if you do, I'm going to be making sure we do gifts next year....

Bert was in charge of thanksgiving dinner which we had on wednesday, as we went to see a dance performance on thurs (yep, we are pretty sophisticated). He made a kind of shepherd's pie with lentils and butter beans with sweet potato and white potato on top.

sorry, food photos are hard to get right... especially when it gets dark at 4pm....



 we roasted some sprouts to eat with it. I haven't roasted them before and they were really good. I was watching 'Barefoot Contessa' the other day and Ina said to go for it and she was right. Just drizzle with olive oil, season and pop in a hot oven for about twenty minutes. delish.


apart from this, I've been mainly eating salads....

green salad with 'chicken' , tomatoes and olives....

ciabatta with avocado, tomatoes, basil and olives and lots of olive oil....

chick peas with shallots, chilli, lime, coriander and parsley...

 avoacado on tiger bread with a side order of gin... this looks a bit weird...

....and salad with pasta....

  1. mmmmm. that looks like a wonderful thanksgiving meal!!!! (we don't usually give gifts for thanksgiving, but i think i'm going to suggest it next year!!!!)
